The shooting took place near Public School 56 Norwood Heights, located at the intersection of East 207th Street and Decatur Avenue in Norwood around 12:05 a.m. on that day. Teal, a resident of Norwood, lived just a short distance from the scene of the shooting, and this marks her first arrest in New York City.
Emergency medical personnel promptly transported Purvis to St. Barnabas Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries. He was a resident of the South Bronx.
