Earlier that same day, around 2:20 a.m., a motorcycle accident resulted in the death of Hasan Ibrahim, a 25-year-old from Bath Beach, Brooklyn. Ibrahim was riding a Honda CBR500R on the southbound FDR Drive when he lost control of the motorcycle and collided with a concrete barrier. Emergency Medical Services transported him to Bellevue Hospital, but he could not be resuscitated.
Further compounding the day’s tragedies, at nearly midnight on Friday, a 53-year-old man was critically injured in the Bronx after being struck by a Nissan Altima driven by a 31-year-old woman at the intersection of Boston Road and Corsa Avenue. The vehicle was traveling eastbound with the green light at the time of the accident while the man attempted to cross the street. He sustained significant injuries and was rushed to Jacobi Hospital, where he remains in critical condition. Unlike the other driver, the woman involved stayed at the scene and has not been charged with any crime.
