Bruce Springsteen biopic set to premiere at New York Film Festival.

Bruce Springsteen’s forthcoming biopic, titled “Deliver Me From Nowhere,” is set to make its world premiere at the 2025 New York Film Festival. Announced by the festival organizers, the film will serve as this year’s Spotlight Gala selection, showcasing on September 28, 2025, at Lincoln Center’s Alice Tully Hall.

Starring Jeremy Allen White as the iconic New Jersey-born rock musician, the film is eagerly anticipated by both fans and critics alike. Springsteen, widely known as “The Boss,” is expected to attend the premiere alongside the film’s director and writer Scott Cooper, and its prominent cast members, which include Jeremy Strong, who takes on the role of Springsteen’s longtime manager and record producer Jon Landau, as well as Odessa Young, who portrays Springsteen’s romantic interest, Faye.

“Deliver Me From Nowhere,” officially subtitled “Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere,” focuses on the creation of Springsteen’s sixth studio album, “Nebraska.” Released in 1982, this deeply personal album was recorded in the artist’s New Jersey home using a four-track recorder, devoid of The E Street Band. This stripped-down, folk-inspired project has since been honored as one of Rolling Stone magazine’s 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.

The film is adapted from Warren Zanes’ book of the same name, further delving into the life and music of one of America’s most influential musical figures. In addition to White, Strong, and Young, the cast features notable actors including Stephen Graham, Paul Walter Hauser, and Gaby Hoffmann.

Commenting on the film’s selection for the festival, New York Film Festival artistic director Dennis Lim referred to it as a deserving tribute to a living legend. Scott Cooper expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to convey Springsteen’s story to audiences, emphasizing the profound impact the artist’s music has had on his own creative journey.

Jeremy Allen White, who gained acclaim for his role in the Hulu series “The Bear,” faces a unique set of challenges in portraying the revered musician. He has articulated the weight of expectation that accompanies playing a real-life figure of Springsteen’s stature.

“Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere” is slated to be released in theaters on October 24, 2025, further adding to the excitement surrounding this highly anticipated cinematic portrayal of the legendary rock icon. As the film gears up for its debut, anticipation continues to build among fans and critics alike in this celebration of musical artistry and storytelling.
