Four soldiers face charges for sexually assaulting a college student at an Army base.
Four U.S. Army soldiers stationed at Joint Base Lewis-McChord in Washington State have been formally charged in connection with the alleged sexual assault of a college student that took place last year. The incident reportedly occurred on October 27, 2024, within a barracks building on the base, which serves both Army and Air Force personnel. Those charged consist of Corporal Pedro Angel Ruiz, Private Deron J. Gordon, Specialist Jadon Bosarge, and Private First Class Kallon Curiel. Cpl. Ruiz faces a total of six charges, including two counts of attempted sexual assault and one count each of indecent recording and conspiracy to commit sexual assault. His potential maximum sentence could extend to 87 years in prison. Pvt. Gordon, who has already pleaded guilty to some of the charges, faces even more severe consequences, including two counts of sexual assault and a potential maximum sentence of 355 years in prison. Specialist Bosarge is similarly charged with multiple offenses, facing up to 332 years if convicted. Pfc. Curiel’s charges include four counts of sexual assault and other related offenses.
