NYPD Investigates Why Ex-Con Was Not Arrested Before Friendly-Fire Shooting During Carjacking Incident
The New York Police Department (NYPD) is currently conducting an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the handling of a recent incident involving Kevin Dubuisson, a 28-year-old individual with a lengthy criminal history. Dubuisson is accused of being involved in a series of carjackings in Queens following an earlier incident where he crashed a stolen vehicle into a construction site in lower Manhattan.
On the night of Thursday, August 22, 2025, the suspect crashed a car at the intersection of Murray and West Streets. Detective Corey Fisher, who was injured during the confrontation, has since been discharged from Jamaica Hospital and is recovering. Dubuisson faces multiple charges, including robbery and assault, following the assaults and the injury inflicted on an elderly woman during his escape.
