Karen Huger from RHOP released from prison 6 months early following DUI conviction.

Reality television personality Karen Huger, known for her role on “The Real Housewives of Potomac,” has recently completed a six-month incarceration related to a DUI incident. In March 2024, Huger was arrested after her Maserati collided with several street signs in Montgomery County, Maryland. Body camera footage from the incident showed her appearing visibly intoxicated, struggling to communicate effectively with law enforcement officers present at the scene.

Following her arrest, Huger faced multiple charges, including driving under the influence (DUI) and driving while impaired (DWI). Additionally, she was charged with negligent driving, failure to control her vehicle’s speed, driving with a suspended registration, and recklessly operating a vehicle in a manner that posed a danger to others. In December 2024, she was convicted on nearly all counts, with the exception of reckless driving.

In the wake of her conviction, Huger expressed her intent to address her drinking issues through a rehabilitation program in Florida. In her statements to followers, she acknowledged the severity of her actions and emphasized her commitment to bettering herself for the sake of her family.

In February 2025, Huger received a two-year prison sentence, with one year suspended. During the sentencing, the presiding judge criticized the suggested six-month prison term, citing Huger’s previous alcohol-related incidents from 2006 to 2011 as a significant factor in the decision.

Recently, it was reported that Huger was released from prison six months early, although the reasons for her early release remain unclear. Following her release, she will be subject to a five-year probation period, during which time she must adhere to specific conditions, including a prohibition on driving for one year. Should she violate any terms of her probation, Huger could face an additional year of imprisonment.

Her case has drawn significant media attention, underscoring the ongoing challenges associated with alcohol use and the broader implications of such incidents within the landscape of reality television. The public awaits further developments as Huger navigates this chapter of her life, with many hoping for her successful recovery and rehabilitation.
