Howard Rubin charged in torture scheme at ‘sex dungeon,’ detained at MDC Brooklyn alongside Diddy and Luigi Mangione.

Howard Rubin, a prominent financier, has been charged with involvement in a notorious sex-trafficking operation that allegedly subjected women to extreme abuse within luxury hotels and a penthouse in Manhattan. The 70-year-old Wall Street executive has been ordered to remain in custody at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Sunset Park, Brooklyn, as he awaits trial. This facility is known for housing high-profile inmates, including music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs and accused assassin Luigi Mangione.

Rubin was arrested by federal agents in Fairfield, Connecticut, following the unsealing of a dramatic ten-count indictment that outlines serious allegations of sex trafficking and the transportation of individuals for prostitution. These accusations are rooted in claims made by at least nine women who allege they were manipulated and mistreated by Rubin and his associate, 45-year-old Jennifer Powers, who has also been implicated in the operation.

During a recent arraignment in Brooklyn Federal Court, Judge Peggy Kuo denied Rubin bail, labeling him a flight risk and a potential threat to the community. Judge Kuo emphasized the seriousness of the allegations against Rubin, which include brutality that reportedly left victims severely injured. Notably, prosecutors claim that Rubin attempted to intimidate his accusers, which included alleged efforts to hire a hitman via the dark web to silence them.

Court documents detail horrific incidents where women were said to have been subjected to bondage and sadomasochism sessions without consent, and in some instances, were assaulted when incapacitated. These events predominantly occurred at various luxury hotels in Manhattan before Rubin began renting a penthouse on West 57th Street in 2011. This penthouse was reportedly modified to include a designated room for these illicit activities, equipped with an electrocution device and a variety of BDSM tools.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office has stated that such heinous acts will not be tolerated. They reiterated a strong message regarding the legal consequences that will follow anyone involved in sexual exploitation. As Rubin and Powers face these grave charges, their cases will be scrutinized within the judicial system, highlighting the ongoing fight against human trafficking and sexual abuse in society.

Rubin’s assistant, Powers, is expected to be extradited to New York to face charges related to her role in facilitating the alleged abuse, further complicating this already harrowing case. As the developments unfold, the legal ramifications of Rubin’s actions will serve as a stark reminder of the responsibility society holds in protecting vulnerable individuals against exploitation.
