Police responded to three calls at Celeste Rivas’ home on the day she went missing.
Authorities were summoned numerous times to the residence of Celeste Rivas Hernandez, a teenager from California, over a span of 14 months prior to her tragic end. The 13-year-old’s dismembered and decomposing remains were discovered inside an impounded Tesla belonging to singer D4vd in early September 2025. According to police records, between February 2024 and April 2025, Riverside County Sheriff’s deputies responded 11 times to the family’s home in Lake Elsinore, primarily for what were deemed minor criminal investigations. One of these incidents included a call reporting suspicious circumstances.
Reports indicate that law enforcement was called to the residence three times within a single day preceding Rivas Hernandez’s disappearance on April 5, 2024. Notably, the last-known footage of the teenager was captured on March 19, 2024, the same day deputies were dispatched to the family home on multiple occasions. The surveillance video, taken from a nearby liquor store, appears to show Rivas running away, marking her second attempt to flee her home environment.
Rivas had first run away two months prior, a decision attributed to a troubled home life. Law enforcement successfully located her in Hollywood, leading to her return home. The second instance of her running away occurred shortly before she was reported missing. It is crucial to note that one of the emergency calls to law enforcement coincided with the night Rivas was last seen.
Approximately 18 months later, on September 8, Rivas’s remains were found in a plastic bag within the trunk of D4vd’s Tesla at a tow yard in the Hollywood Hills, about 75 miles from Lake Elsinore. The vehicle had reportedly been abandoned before being impounded. Los Angeles authorities announced that an official cause of death remains undetermined, and investigations into whether there is any criminal culpability beyond the concealment of her body are ongoing.
While the relationship between Rivas Hernandez and D4vd, whose real name is David Burke, has yet to be fully clarified, LAPD Captain Scot M. Williams stated it would be premature to comment. However, Rivas’s mother indicated to media outlets that her daughter had a boyfriend named David. The 20-year-old singer, known for hits like “Romantic Homicide,” is reportedly cooperating with law enforcement as they continue their investigation into this deeply concerning case.
