Man faces charges for the fatal shooting of a mother and her 13-year-old daughter in Trenton.

Authorities have announced the arrest of a 45-year-old man in connection with the tragic shooting of a mother and her teenage daughter in Trenton over the weekend. Bahin Lynch, a resident of Trenton, has been charged with two counts of first-degree murder and several related weapons offenses following the deaths of 40-year-old Malika Whiting and her 13-year-old daughter, Jairah Biggs. Mercer County Prosecutor Janetta D. Marbrey and Trenton Police Director Steve Wilson confirmed the charges in a public statement released on Thursday.

Lynch is currently being held at the Mercer County Correction Center, where officials have indicated they will seek to retain him without bail pending his trial. The incident occurred on Saturday, at approximately 10:30 a.m., when Trenton police responded to a 911 call reporting two deceased individuals at a residence located on the 300 block of West State Street. Upon arrival, officers discovered the body of the teenage girl in a third-floor bedroom with a gunshot wound, while her mother was found on the stairway leading to the same floor, also suffering from a gunshot wound. Tragically, both victims were pronounced dead at the scene.
