Man arrested for stabbing death of woman who defended her boyfriend during fight outside Bronx bar.

A 28-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the stabbing death of 35-year-old Pamela Almonte Cabrera, who died while defending her boyfriend during a violent confrontation outside a bar in the Bronx. The suspect, Cristian Moya, faces multiple charges including murder, manslaughter, and criminal possession of a weapon following an incident that occurred shortly after closing time on Friday.

According to the New York Police Department, the altercation took place around 4:10 a.m. on East Kingsbridge Road near Morris Avenue. Cabrera was part of a group of approximately five individuals engaged in a struggle with another group along the sidewalk outside Mama Dora Bar & Lounge. Eyewitnesses reported that Cabrera intervened in the scuffle to protect her boyfriend from potential harm, ultimately resulting in her being fatally stabbed.

Surveillance footage from the scene captured chaotic moments among the crowd before Cabrera was seen walking unsteadily down the block, supported by another person. Shortly thereafter, she collapsed onto the pavement and was transported initially by private means to BronxCare Health System. She was subsequently transferred to Lincoln Hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries.

Known as a dedicated nail technician operating in a nearby barbershop, Cabrera was a mother to two sons residing in the Dominican Republic and a 17-year-old daughter living in New York City.
