Two New Jersey fugitives wanted for shooting a teenager have been arrested in Florida.
Authorities announced the recent arrest of two New Jersey residents implicated in the shooting of a 16-year-old boy in Paterson earlier this year. The suspects, identified as 19-year-old Darren Salazar and 20-year-old Janelly Ramos, were apprehended on Tuesday in Seminole County, Florida, a location situated north of Orlando.
According to law enforcement officials, Salazar and Ramos are suspected of being involved in the shooting incident that occurred on May 11, 2023. The shooting left the unidentified 16-year-old victim with multiple gunshot wounds, requiring hospitalization. Fortunately, the injuries sustained by the victim were non-life-threatening.
The authorities issued warrants for the arrests of both suspects just a day before their capture, as they were wanted on serious charges, including first-degree attempted murder. On the afternoon of their arrest, deputies from the Seminole County Sheriff’s Office reportedly spotted Salazar and Ramos in an unincorporated area of the county. He is also facing a charge of resisting arrest stemming from the incident in Florida.
