Queens man pleads guilty to sex trafficking multiple women on Long Island.
A man from Queens has entered a guilty plea to charges related to sex trafficking and promoting prostitution, according to an announcement from local authorities. Jorge Ramos, aged 55, pleaded guilty to three separate charges during a hearing that took place in Mineola on Monday, as reported by the Nassau County District Attorney’s office.
District Attorney Anne Donnelly highlighted the pervasive nature of sex trafficking, emphasizing that it can occur in any location and affect individuals from diverse backgrounds. Donnelly pointed out that Ramos took advantage of vulnerable women, using threats to coerce one of his victims into continuing to engage in prostitution.
The case against Ramos centered around three identified victims. It was reported that, in November 2023, he trafficked one victim at his residence in Astoria and at a Marriott hotel located in Uniondale. Evidence indicated that within the hotel setting, Ramos issued threats to the victim, indicating he would expose an explicit video of her unless she continued to engage in sexual acts for financial compensation.
Ramos’s arrest occurred in February 2025 at the Hyatt Place hotel in Garden City, where law enforcement officers found him involved in the trafficking of two additional women. Thanks to thorough surveillance and undercover operations conducted by law enforcement, Ramos was apprehended and subsequently charged for his criminal activities.
The prosecution has scheduled Ramos’s sentencing hearing for December 11, during which he is expected to receive a prison term ranging from one to three years. Additionally, upon his release, he will be required to register as a sex offender, a stipulation that underscores the serious nature of his offenses.
In light of this case, officials have reiterated the importance of vigilance and the ongoing efforts required to combat sex trafficking. They underscored that such exploitation can occur in seemingly safe or familiar environments, such as hotels in Nassau County, stressing the need for continued public awareness and legal scrutiny to protect vulnerable individuals from similar fates.
