Fraudulent Hollywood producer sentenced to 146 years for murders related to overdoses and sexual assault.

David Brian Pearce, a 43-year-old man from Los Angeles who falsely presented himself as a Hollywood producer, has been sentenced to 146 years to life in prison for the first-degree murder of two women, among other serious charges. This sentencing took place on Wednesday following his conviction in February 2025. Pearce was found guilty of murdering 24-year-old model Christy Giles and 26-year-old Hilda Marcela Cabrales-Arzola, both of whom died as a result of drug overdoses involving fentanyl and other substances.

The fatalities occurred in November 2021 after the victims met Pearce at a warehouse party in East Los Angeles. Shortly thereafter, they accompanied him to his home in Beverly Hills, where they were allegedly offered a lethal combination of fentanyl, cocaine, and additional narcotics. Reports indicate that within 35 minutes of ingesting the drugs, Cabrales-Arzola attempted to arrange for a rideshare to leave but ultimately did not make it out of the apartment.

Approximately 12 hours after their incapacitation, both women were found and transported to local hospitals by masked individuals. Christy Giles was pronounced dead upon arrival, while Hilda Marcela Cabrales-Arzola, who lapsed into unconsciousness, died less than two weeks later—just a day before her 27th birthday. A coroner’s investigation later classified the deaths as homicides, attributing the cause to “multiple drug intoxication,” with Cabrales-Arzola also suffering from multiple organ failure.

In addition to the murder charges, Pearce was convicted of multiple counts of sexual assault, including three counts of forcible rape and additional charges related to drug-facilitated sexual crimes. Testimony from seven victims revealed that Pearce frequently targeted women by masquerading as a well-connected figure in the entertainment industry, despite lacking any substantial credentials in Hollywood.

Co-defendant Brandt Osborn, an actor, is currently awaiting retrial on separate charges related to the case, as a prior jury was unable to reach a decision on his involvement as an accessory to murder during the events surrounding the overdoses. Osborn is accused of assisting Pearce in transporting the victims to the hospitals after their overdoses. A pretrial hearing for Osborn is scheduled for November 18, 2025, as the legal proceedings continue to unfold in this troubling case.

This case has drawn significant attention to issues of safety and accountability within the entertainment industry, particularly regarding the exploitation of vulnerable individuals. As the legal actions progress, it highlights the need for continued vigilance against predatory behavior and the imperative of justice for victims.
