Six individuals arrested in major drug bust; authorities seize enough fentanyl to pose a threat to Suffolk County.

Six individuals have been apprehended in connection with a significant narcotics distribution operation allegedly spanning from the Bronx to Suffolk County, according to law enforcement officials. The arrests, announced on Friday, follow a comprehensive multi-agency investigation led by the Suffolk County District Attorney’s East End Drug Task Force, in collaboration with agencies including the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and the New York Police Department (NYPD).

On October 30, authorities executed a series of search warrants targeting residences and vehicles believed to be implicated in the drug conspiracy. The operation took place in several locations, including West Islip, Bay Shore, Wyandanch, Lindenhurst, and parts of the Bronx. District Attorney Ray Tierney reported that the investigative efforts culminated in the recovery of substantial quantities of narcotics, including cocaine, heroin, and pressed pills. Alarmingly, authorities also seized a quantity of fentanyl deemed sufficient to potentially cause the deaths of the entire population of Suffolk County, which is approximately 1.5 million residents.

The District Attorney highlighted the risks associated with this illicit drug trade, noting that each kilogram of fentanyl could lead to 500,000 potential overdose fatalities, indicating that the amount recovered was capable of devastating the local community. This underscores the pressing public health crisis posed by the proliferation of fentanyl in the region.

In addition to narcotics, law enforcement officials discovered firearms during the operation, including three pistols, a shotgun, a rifle, as well as several high-capacity magazines, some capable of holding 50 rounds each.

The individuals charged in the operation have been identified as John Collado, 26, of West Islip; Anthony Dominguez, 33, of Bay Shore; Michael Torres, 26, of Wyandanch; David Priest, 35, of Ronkonkoma; and Luiggi Peralta, 31, of the Bronx. They were arraigned in Suffolk County District Court on October 31, facing a range of narcotics-related and weapons offenses.
