Man fatally stabbed at TGI Fridays in North Jersey

A fatal stabbing occurred at a TGI Fridays restaurant in Linden, New Jersey, late Sunday night, resulting in the death of a man whose identity has yet to be disclosed. The Linden Police Department reported that officers were dispatched around 10 p.m. following alerts of a disturbance at the establishment, located on South Park Avenue, across the Arthur Kill from Staten Island.

Upon arrival, law enforcement found the victim on the restaurant floor with a knife wound. He was quickly transported to Newark University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. As of now, no suspects have been named or apprehended, and the police have not released additional details regarding the fight that led to this violent outcome. The department has urged anyone with information about the incident to contact them, highlighting the urgency of gathering more context regarding the circumstances surrounding the altercation.

This tragic event is part of a troubling trend, as several stabbings have been reported in North Jersey over the past week. Just days prior, on November 3, a 41-year-old man named Richard Arcos was fatally stabbed in his Bayonne home. A 28-year-old local resident, Andrew Fuentes, was subsequently arrested and charged with aggravated manslaughter related to Arcos’s death. Additionally, two days after the Bayonne incident, six individuals were arrested in a separate stabbing case in Harrison, leading to significant delays in PATH train services as they attempted to flee the scene.

The TGI Fridays location involved in the recent stabbing is among a diminishing number of establishments from the restaurant chain remaining in New Jersey, following a bankruptcy filing that has impacted numerous locations across the state.

As investigations continue, the Linden community remains in shock over the violent incident, reflecting broader concerns about public safety and rising crime rates in the region. The police department’s call for witnesses underscores the importance of community cooperation in addressing these alarming events, emphasizing the need for vigilance and assistance in solving such cases.
