New Jersey man, 51, arrested for attempting to meet 14-year-old girl for sexual activity.

A man from Pine Hill, New Jersey, has been apprehended for allegedly attempting to lure an individual he believed to be an underage girl. The arrest, carried out by local authorities, highlights ongoing concerns regarding child exploitation and the online dangers faced by minors.

Michael Marchionese, aged 51, initiated contact with an undercover officer posing as a 14-year-old girl in October 2025, as reported by Camden County Prosecutor Grace MacAulay and Pine Hill Police Chief Christopher Winters. Throughout several weeks, this communication transitioned from social media platforms to text messaging.

During their exchanges, Marchionese reportedly made several inappropriate requests, including soliciting nude photographs from the girl. Prosecutors indicate that the interactions culminated in an arrangement for him to meet the purported minor at a hotel in Cherry Hill, where he allegedly intended to engage in sexual activity.

The investigation led to Marchionese’s arrest on November 21 at his residence in Pine Hill. Following his arrest, he was booked into the Camden County Correctional Facility. Officials from the U.S. Marshals Service New York/New Jersey Regional Fugitive Task Force played a crucial role in the investigation, confirming that a cellphone seized during the arrest was utilized for the conversations with the individual posing as a minor.

Marchionese faces multiple serious charges, including four counts of attempted manufacturing of child sexual abuse material, attempting to lure a child, and attempted sexual assault of a minor, as well as attempted endangering the welfare of a child. These accusations reflect the severe legal ramifications associated with the online solicitation of minors.

As of now, Marchionese is scheduled to appear in court on January 14, according to official court records. This case underscores the persistent dangers of online communications, particularly for vulnerable populations such as children, and serves as a stark reminder of the ongoing efforts required to combat child exploitation in the digital age.

Law enforcement and child protection advocates are increasingly emphasizing the importance of education and vigilance in protecting minors from such predatory behaviors. The legal proceedings surrounding this case will be closely monitored as it unfolds in the coming weeks.
