This week in Philadelphia’s vibrant music scene features a lineup of captivating performances, showcasing artists from various genres and backgrounds. Music enthusiasts can anticipate thrilling live shows from renowned talents including Lily Allen, Waxahatchee, MJ Lenderman, and Raye at The Met, alongside Snail Mail at the Fillmore and Bollywood film composers Shankar Ehsaan Loy in Atlantic City. Additionally, the local rock band Tiger’s Jaw will host a record-release party, marking their seventh album, “Lost on You.”

Thursday, April 16, will spotlight the indie rock supergroup Fantastic Cat, comprised of notable artists Don DiLego, Anthony D’Amato, Mike Montali, and Brian Dunne. Their debut album titled “Cat Out Of Hell” showcases their songwriting capabilities beyond the humor inherent in its title. The evening will feature Jillette Johnson as the opening act at Ardmore Music Hall, located at 23 E. Lancaster Ave., Ardmore.

The eventful evening will continue with Tigers Jaw, who will celebrate their new album with a hometown gig at Union Transfer. Their latest work, recorded at South Philly’s Memory Music under the guidance of Grammy-winning producer Will Yip, is generating excitement among fans. Also on this night is Snail Mail, the project of Baltimore-born songwriter Lindsey Jordan, known for her distinctive voice and compelling lyricism. Her third album “Ricochet” further cements her place as a leading voice in modern indie rock. The concert will take place at the Fillmore Philly, with opening support from the 1990s band Swirlies and the up-and-coming group Sharp Pins.

Friday, April 17, holds additional excitement. Lily Allen, who has experienced a resurgence in popularity following her breakup album “West End Girl,” will perform at The Met. Following her show, the renowned band Bleachers, led by producer Jack Antonoff, will preview tracks from their upcoming album “Everyone For Ten Minutes” during a special Free at Noon event at World Stage.
