Taco Bell introduces cold brew coffee to the menu at its Live Más Cafés.

Taco Bell has announced the expansion of its menu at the Live Más Cafés with the introduction of a new line of cold brews. This innovative beverage offering distinguishes itself from traditional iced coffee, which is brewed hot and chilled, by utilizing a slower brewing method that results in a smoother and more nuanced flavor profile. This distinction is particularly significant as cold brew aficionados often exhibit a high degree of preference when selecting their coffee establishments.

Nola Krieg, the director of product development for the Irvine-based fast food chain, emphasized that the cold brew offerings are designed for purists, contrasting them with Taco Bell’s creamier specialty iced coffee drinks. This focus on catering to the discerning tastes of cold brew drinkers led the company to invest time and effort into perfecting their recipe.

The new cold brew officially launched on May 21 and is crafted using a blend of air-roasted medium and dark roast Arabica beans sourced from Latin America. Customers will find the cold brew served in clear cups equipped with sipping lids, enhancing the overall experience. Options for customization include serving the cold brew over ice or adding one of three enticing cold foams: Vanilla Cream, Caramel Dulce, and Purple Velvet, the latter of which features warm cinnamon horchata notes.

This new beverage option is among more than 20 items that Taco Bell teased during its annual fan event, Live Mas Live, held in March at the Hollywood Palladium. Cold brew is exclusively available at Live Más Cafés, which are remodeled versions of traditional Taco Bell restaurants. Taco Bell opened its first Live Más Café in December 2024 in Chula Vista, and as of now, there are 38 locations, primarily concentrated in Southern California, with additional establishments in Nevada and Texas.

The Live Más Cafés feature a revamped design with a distinctive purple and white color scheme and menus that spotlight beverage offerings while still serving Taco Bell’s traditional food. In addition to cold brew, these cafes also offer specialty drinks such as Refrescas—Taco Bell’s take on refreshers, Chillers (shakes), Freezes (slushes), and the popular dirty sodas.

To celebrate the debut of the cold brew lineup, Live Más Cafés will host a promotional event on May 30, during which the first 300 customers will receive a complimentary bandana with the purchase of a medium cold brew. Further details about the new offerings and promotions can be found on Taco Bell’s website.
