Infant girl dies after being thrown to the floor by a boy in a Claremont home, according to police.
A tragic incident occurred in Claremont on Monday, June 29, resulting in the death of an infant following an altercation involving a young boy. According to Claremont police, authorities responded to a call around 11:40 a.m. at a residence located on the 1400 block of Lynoak Drive. Upon arrival, first responders found the baby unresponsive and severely injured.
Emergency medical personnel promptly transported the infant to Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center for urgent care. Due to the critical nature of her injuries, the baby was subsequently transferred to Children’s Hospital of Orange County, where she ultimately succumbed to her wounds.
In the wake of this incident, law enforcement took a boy into custody, charging him with suspicion of murder. Investigators believe that the boy threw the infant to the floor during the altercation, which led to her fatal injuries.
