Charlize Theron will be honored with an award at the upcoming annual Dallas charity gala.

Academy Award-winning actor and humanitarian Charlize Theron is set to be honored at amfAR’s annual gala in Dallas for her significant contributions to combating HIV/AIDS and addressing gender-based violence. The event, scheduled for October 24, aims to raise funds and awareness for the critical initiatives undertaken by amfAR, a leading nonprofit organization dedicated to ending the HIV/AIDS epidemic.

Theron will receive the prestigious Award of Inspiration, an acknowledgment of her ongoing support for amfAR and her humanitarian efforts through her own foundation. Kyle Clifford, the CEO of amfAR, praised Theron’s commitment, emphasizing that her advocacy serves as a model of inspiration for others. The organization anticipates celebrating her tireless work in addressing these urgent global issues during the gala.

As a United Nations Messenger of Peace, Theron founded the Charlize Theron Africa Outreach Project, which focuses on enhancing the health and safety of youth in South Africa. The organization’s impactful programs, which address sexual health and seek to prevent gender-based violence, have reached over 4.8 million young individuals.

Additionally, Theron’s activism extends to launching the Together for Her campaign in collaboration with CARE and the Entertainment Industry Foundation. This initiative was designed to combat gender-based violence amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, highlighting the role of such violence in exacerbating public health crises. Theron has also partnered with the Ford Foundation to improve access to vaccines, showcasing her commitment to global health.

Over the past 26 years, amfAR has successfully raised more than .5 million in North Texas to support its biomedical research endeavors. Dallas art collector Cindy Rachofsky serves as a trustee for the organization, furthering its mission.

The upcoming gala is anticipated to be a pivotal event in the North Texas philanthropic calendar. Last year’s event featured actress Nicole Kidman presenting the award to Taylor Sheridan, the creator of Yellowstone, at the residence of prominent philanthropists Kathleen and Scott Kirby, with the latter being the CEO of United Airlines. Other notable attendees included NBA star Dirk Nowitzki, Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones, actress Teri Hatcher, and music icon Diana Ross. For previous events, entry prices have been set at ,500, indicative of the gala’s high-profile status and contribution to vital causes.

This year’s gala promises to be an extraordinary night, honoring Theron’s impactful contributions while raising much-needed funds for the fight against HIV/AIDS and gender-based violence.
