FBI offers ,000 reward for information on gunman involved in two murders during robbery spree in the Bronx and Brooklyn.

The FBI has announced a reward of ,000 in the ongoing search for 31-year-old Jesus Acosta, who is wanted for the fatal shootings of two individuals during a robbery spree that spanned Brooklyn and the Bronx. This initiative comes alongside a ,000 reward from the United Bodegas of America, amplifying efforts to locate the suspect who is linked to multiple violent incidents.

The manhunt has intensified as authorities investigate two separate shootings that occurred within a 48-hour timeframe. The first incident took place around 12:15 a.m. Tuesday at the 149 Grill & Deli in Mott Haven, where Tayvon Shuler, a 33-year-old innocent bystander, was shot in the chest. Witnesses indicated that Shuler was simply shopping when the assailant entered the establishment, prompting a chaotic scene where the suspect seized cash from the register before fleeing. Tragically, Shuler was rushed to Lincoln Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.

Just days earlier, Acosta was allegedly involved in another shooting at American Best Wings & Pizza in Brownsville, where he shot two employees during an armed robbery on Sunday. One of the victims, 44-year-old Yousuf MD, was struck in the head and later died at Brookdale University Hospital. His family, including two young daughters aged 3 and 12, now faces uncertainty following the loss of their primary provider—a situation echoed by the restaurant’s co-owner, who expressed concern for the family’s future.

Acosta’s criminal history is extensive, featuring 13 prior arrests that include a robbery charge stemming from when he was just 14 years old. A particularly notorious incident occurred in May 2015, when he shot a man on a subway platform in East Harlem after a dispute. Following a lengthy prison sentence, Acosta was released on parole in April 2023 and is currently set to remain under supervision until 2030.

Authorities have identified Acosta through surveillance footage, which has been circulated among law enforcement. His last known residence is in the Soundview area of the Bronx. Acosta is reported to be 5 feet 11 inches tall, with distinctive tattoos on his hand and forearm.
