Nick Jonas cast as KISS frontman Paul Stanley in new biopic.

Nick Jonas has been cast as the legendary KISS frontman Paul Stanley in the upcoming biopic titled “Shout It Out Loud,” which will explore the rock band’s formative years in the 1970s. The 32-year-old musician and actor is set to lead the film’s ensemble, demonstrating his versatility beyond his well-established career in pop music. Sources indicate that Jonas will be performing his own vocals for the role, necessitating substantial voice training to authentically capture Stanley’s distinctive sound. Production for the film is anticipated to commence either late this year or early next year.

“Shout It Out Loud” will be directed by McG, a filmmaker recognized for his work on projects such as “Charlie’s Angels: Full Throttle” and the forthcoming 2024 release “Uglies.” While details regarding the complete cast remain sparse, it has been suggested that McG has already identified an actor to portray Gene Simmons, KISS’s bassist and co-vocalist, although no further information has been disclosed.

As of now, neither Jonas nor any other individuals involved in the production, including members of KISS, have publicly commented on the casting announcement. However, the news has generated considerable interest among both fans of the band and film enthusiasts alike.

Nick Jonas, who rose to fame as a member of The Jonas Brothers alongside his siblings Joe and Kevin, has carved out a diverse career in both music and entertainment. His latest project, “You’re Cordially Invited,” premiered on Amazon Prime Video, featuring a star-studded cast including Reese Witherspoon and Will Ferrell. Additionally, he is currently performing with Adrienne Warren in “The Last Five Years,” which opened at the Hudson Theatre in April 2025. Jonas’s previous stage credits encompass roles in musicals like “How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying” and “Annie Get Your Gun.”

With Jonas’s extensive background in both music and acting, his portrayal of Paul Stanley is expected to bring a fresh perspective to the film, celebrating KISS’s iconic status in the history of rock music. As anticipation grows for “Shout It Out Loud,” audiences are eager to see how this biopic will capture the essence of one of rock’s most influential bands.
