Allison Mack, former NXIVM member, gets married two years after her release from prison.

Allison Mack, known for her role as Chloe Sullivan on the television series “Smallville,” recently exchanged vows in Los Angeles, marking a significant moment in a life that has been tumultuously public. Reports indicate that Mack married a man identified only as Frank earlier this month, following an engagement that began during the Christmas season of the previous year. The couple reportedly met at a dog park shortly after Mack’s release from a federal prison, where she served a 21-month sentence for her involvement in the controversial NXIVM organization.

Mack gained fame in the early 2000s through “Smallville,” which aired from 2001 to 2011. It was during this time, in 2007, that she attended her first NXIVM meeting. After the show’s conclusion, she relocated to New York to deepen her involvement with the group, moving to Albany in 2012, which served as NXIVM’s headquarters. Under the leadership of Keith Raniere, Mack held a prominent role, eventually becoming one of the eight high-ranking “masters” in a secretive subgroup known as DOS, where women were subjected to severe psychological and physical manipulation.

Raniere’s organization was designed to foster a hierarchical and abusive dynamic, compelling women to adhere to extreme diets and engage in sexual acts for his pleasure, often branding them with his initials. In 2018, Mack was arrested, facing charges that included sex trafficking and racketeering. She pled guilty in 2019 to several counts, including extortion and forced labor. Although she was initially eligible for a sentence of 14 to 17.5 years, her cooperation with authorities resulted in a significantly reduced sentence of three years.

Mack was released from prison in July 2023 after serving 1 year, 9 months, and 20 days. Upon her release, she publicly expressed remorse for her actions and the impact they had on others, particularly those she introduced to NXIVM. Mack’s past marriage to fellow actress Nicki Clyne, also involved with NXIVM, further highlights the complexities of her previous associations.

Meanwhile, Raniere currently serves a 120-year prison sentence at United States Penitentiary, Tucson, following his conviction for a myriad of charges related to his leadership in NXIVM. The trajectory of Mack’s life—from a celebrated television actress to a convicted felon—has raised numerous questions and discussions about the manipulation and psychological control exercised within cult-like organizations.
