Arab, Islamic nations and Western countries show support for Trump’s peace plan for Gaza.
In a significant diplomatic development, United States President Donald Trump has unveiled a comprehensive 20-point peace proposal aimed at resolving the ongoing conflict in Gaza. This initiative follows a recent meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who expressed his endorsement of the plan.
The proposal calls for the disarmament of Hamas and has garnered positive responses from various stakeholders, including the Palestinian Authority (PA), which oversees the West Bank, as well as several Arab nations in the region. The PA welcomed the efforts, emphasizing its commitment to collaborate with the United States and other regional entities in pursuit of a peaceful resolution that ensures humanitarian assistance for Gaza, the release of hostages, and the protection of Palestinian rights.
In a statement, the PA articulated its dedication to establishing mechanisms that safeguard the Palestinian population, uphold the ceasefire agreements, and prevent unilateral actions that contravene international law. A coalition of foreign ministers from Egypt, Indonesia, Jordan, Pakistan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Turkiye, and the UAE released a joint statement commending Trump’s efforts to facilitate peace in Gaza.
