Bancroft appoints Gregory Passanante as new CEO to lead South Jersey IDD services provider.
Bancroft, a nonprofit organization based in South Jersey dedicated to serving individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, has announced the appointment of Gregory Passanante as its new president and CEO. Passanante is set to assume his role on January 7, becoming the tenth leader in the organization’s 143-year history.
Passanante arrives at Bancroft with a robust background in healthcare management. Most recently, he served as the northeast market administrator for Shriners Children’s Hospital Philadelphia, where he was responsible for overseeing operations and ensuring high standards of care. His previous experience includes a tenure as the chief nursing officer at Wills Eye Hospital, equipping him with a diverse skill set suited for leading a nonprofit in the healthcare sector.
Under his predecessor, Toni Pergolin, who served as president and CEO, Bancroft experienced significant transformations that steered the organization towards financial stability. When Pergolin first joined the organization in 2004 as chief financial officer, Bancroft faced pressing financial challenges, including concerns about making payroll. Over the years, she played a pivotal role in restructuring and revitalizing the organization, which has ultimately led to its current solid financial standing.
Recent financial reports indicate that Bancroft has achieved considerable success. For the fiscal year ending June 30, the organization reported an operating income of million generated from total revenues of 4 million. This impressive financial performance reflects the effectiveness of the strategies implemented under Pergolin’s leadership and sets a strong foundation for Passanante as he steps into his new role.
Bancroft currently serves 1,642 clients, while also employing 2,853 full-time staff members. This workforce is critical in delivering essential services and support to individuals with disabilities, underscoring the organization’s commitment to enhancing the quality of life for its clients.
As Passanante prepares to take the helm, he faces the ongoing challenge of maintaining and expanding the nonprofit’s impact, particularly in a landscape marked by increased demand for comprehensive services for individuals with developmental disabilities. With his extensive experience in healthcare administration, he is poised to lead Bancroft into its next chapter of growth and innovation.
