Bayada Home Health Care appoints Bryony Winn as the new CEO.

Bayada Home Health Care, a prominent nonprofit organization based in Moorestown and recognized as one of the largest providers of home health and related services in the United States, has announced the appointment of Bryony Winn as its new Chief Executive Officer. This decision was disclosed on Thursday, marking a significant leadership transition for the company.

Winn’s tenure as CEO will commence on March 2, making her the first external leader to helm the organization since its founding in 1975 by entrepreneur J. Mark Baiada. In a pivotal shift in its operational structure, the company transitioned to a nonprofit model in 2019 under the guidance of Baiada, who has been at the forefront of the company’s growth and development.

She will take over the role from David Baiada, the founder’s son, who has served as CEO for the past eight years. The transition in leadership comes at a time when Bayada continues to play a vital role in the healthcare landscape, providing essential services including traditional home health care, private-duty nursing, and hospice care.

Before her appointment at Bayada, Bryony Winn was President of Caralon, a division of health insurer Elevance. This unit is known for providing a variety of services, including prior authorizations, which support multiple health plans. Her previous experience also includes significant roles at Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Carolina and as a consultant with McKinsey & Company, equipping her with a strong background in healthcare management and strategies.

In a statement reflecting on her new role, Winn expressed enthusiasm about the opportunity to lead Bayada, emphasizing the organization’s commitment to making a meaningful impact on global health and the lives of individuals it serves.

David Baiada will continue in his capacity as CEO until Winn assumes leadership, after which he will transition to the board of directors, where he will act as an advisor during the organizational transition.

Bayada reported an annual revenue of approximately billion last year, highlighting its substantial presence in the healthcare service sector. The organization, which employs over 30,000 individuals, faced challenges earlier this year, including a significant staffing reduction when it laid off around 10% of its workforce in Pennsauken, New Jersey, where key administrative functions are centralized.

The leadership change at Bayada signals a new chapter for the organization as it navigates the complexities of the healthcare industry while maintaining its mission to provide high-quality care for its clients.
