Bistro at Cherry Hill remains open despite bankruptcy, according to its owner.

Unfortunately, the establishment faced an abrupt halt in operations earlier this month due to bankruptcy proceedings, as confirmed by court documents and statements from Andy Cosenza, the restaurant’s president.
Cosenza indicated that the closure is expected to be temporary, stemming from a “communication breakdown” related to the status of a Chapter 11 bankruptcy petition he filed in May—his second filing in recent years. Surprising even to him, the Bistro was locked out when his brother attempted to open it, unaware that the bankruptcy petition had been converted to a Chapter 7, typically involving asset liquidation.
This sudden closure has left a void for many loyal patrons, as evidenced by an outpouring of disbelief and sadness on various social media platforms. One loyal customer, Maura Aguilar, described the Bistro as an integral part of her mall visits, attributing its significance not only to the quality of food but also to the community atmosphere it cultivated.
The Bistro has reportedly been in good standing in terms of customer loyalty and revenue, generating millions annually. However, as the court documents reveal, the restaurant faced significant financial challenges, primarily linked to its rental obligations. As Cosenza prepares for a court hearing on August 12 regarding the bankruptcy case, he expresses a strong desire to reopen and continue serving the community that holds the establishment so dearly.
