Bronx taxi driver shouted before being stabbed during road rage incident, according to the district attorney.

A recent incident of road rage in the Bronx has left a livery cab driver in critical condition after he was allegedly stabbed multiple times by an assailant wielding a knife. The confrontation unfolded in the early hours of November 26, 2025, when 39-year-old Osei Kusi was on his way home at approximately 2:30 a.m., following a late-night shift. Prosecutors indicate that the altercation began when Darin Dominick, 58, cut off Kusi’s vehicle.

Kusi attempted to maneuver around Dominick’s car but found himself stopped at a red light. According to court documents, Dominick exited his vehicle wielding a baseball bat and approached Kusi’s driver-side window, striking it while shouting at the cab driver. During this chaotic moment, Kusi attempted to defuse the situation, reportedly telling Dominick he did not want to engage in a fight. Video footage captured Kusi repeatedly stating, “I don’t want to fight you,” moments before he was attacked.

When Kusi complied with Dominick’s aggressive demands to exit his vehicle, he inadvertently slipped and fell. Prosecutors assert that Dominick seized this opportunity to stab Kusi multiple times in the torso, delivering eight strikes before leaving the scene. Following the assault, Dominick fled in his vehicle, but not before Kusi managed to regain his composure and drive away, eventually calling a friend for assistance.

A passerby later discovered Kusi unconscious in his SUV, which was still running, near the intersection of Randall Avenue and White Plains Road. Emergency responders transported him to Jacobi Medical Center, where he underwent emergency surgery to treat critical stab wounds to his back and stomach. His condition improved to stable following surgery, and he has been receiving care while recovering in the hospital.

Darin Dominick turned himself in to authorities and faces multiple charges, including attempted murder and assault, with his bond set at 0,000. He was arraigned in Bronx Criminal Court, where prosecutors presented the details of the violent incident. An attorney representing Dominick claimed his client denies any wrongdoing and has been cooperating fully with investigators.

The incident has drawn attention from local advocacy groups, who are expressing outrage over the violent escalation of road rage incidents and urging a thorough prosecution. Community members characterize Kusi as a peaceful individual, emphasizing the senselessness of the attack. As the case progresses, the community remains supportive of Kusi’s recovery, hoping for swift justice in this troubling incident.

Media News Source stresses the need for dialogue about road safety and the consequences of aggressive behavior on the road, as incidents of this nature highlight the vital importance of conflict de-escalation and respect among drivers.
