Brooklyn man pleads guilty to operating cocaine delivery service in East Hampton.
A Brooklyn man has confessed to operating a substantial cocaine distribution network in East Hampton, New York, following his guilty plea announced by officials on Tuesday. Michael Khodorkovskiy, 44, faced charges for criminal sale of a controlled substance as part of his activities in Suffolk County, according to District Attorney Raymond A. Tierney.
The District Attorney emphasized the seriousness of the case, asserting that the East End is not a suitable location for dangerous narcotics from New York City. He reiterated his office’s commitment to disrupting drug trafficking within Suffolk County, indicating that Khodorkovskiy’s admission highlights the determined efforts of law enforcement to combat drug-related activities in the region.
Prosecutors outlined the investigative methods employed to apprehend Khodorkovskiy. Undercover police officers were able to infiltrate his network by posing as potential customers. This investigation spanned from July 2023 to August 2024, during which Khodorkovskiy sold substantial amounts of cocaine to an undercover investigator near his residence in Brooklyn, operating under the belief that the drug was destined for distribution in Suffolk County.
Moreover, evidence from the investigation demonstrated that Khodorkovskiy sold cocaine to a separate undercover officer in East Hampton, assuming the drugs were intended for redistribution in the high-profile summer destination as well as the nearby Montauk area. In total, Khodorkovskiy, alongside a co-conspirator identified as 39-year-old Alexander Dyatchin from East Hampton, engaged in multiple transactions that involved significant quantities of cocaine, including at least four occasions where two ounces were sold.
Both men were arrested on August 2, 2024. When apprehended, Khodorkovskiy was reportedly in possession of approximately 2.2 pounds of cocaine, as well as a quantity of MDMA that was discovered in a concealed compartment of his Mercedes-Benz, a method commonly referred to as a “trap.”
Following a search warrant executed at Khodorkovskiy’s Brooklyn residence, authorities recovered ,550 in cash and 39 gold coins valued at an estimated 0,000, in addition to nearly 0,000 from bank accounts associated with him.
On Monday, Khodorkovskiy pleaded guilty in Suffolk County Criminal Court to a single count of criminal sale of a controlled substance, a felony that carries a potential prison sentence of up to 10 years. He is scheduled to return to court on May 29. Meanwhile, Dyatchin’s case is still pending as the legal proceedings continue.
This case underscores ongoing law enforcement efforts to combat drug trafficking in Suffolk County and protect local communities from the dangers associated with illegal narcotics.
