Bucks County Man Charged with Targeting Women and Underage Girls in Nationwide Sextortion Scheme
A 25-year-old man from Bensalem, Pennsylvania, was apprehended earlier this week for allegedly perpetrating a widespread sextortion scheme that targeted women and underage girls across the United States. Law enforcement officials reported that David Ajiri surrendered to authorities at the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office in Colorado on Monday, following an arrest warrant issued by the police department in Arvada, located just outside Denver. The Bensalem Township Police Department played an integral role in the investigation.
According to police, Ajiri has been allegedly active since 2018, specifically targeting women and girls as young as 14 years old. He reportedly utilized various social media, dating, and friendship applications to initiate contact with potential victims, luring them into sharing intimate images and videos. Under the guise of requesting these materials in exchange for monetary compensation, Ajiri never actually fulfilled his promise to pay the victims.
The coercive tactics employed by Ajiri reportedly escalated when he threatened to distribute the victims’ private content to their friends, family, or social media connections, unless they continued to provide explicit imagery or financial support. Police indicated that victims sometimes received detailed instructions outlining specific types of images or videos that were to be sent to him, raising concerns that some of the content may have been sold on illicit online platforms.
So far, one victim has been confirmed, but investigators believe many more individuals may be affected by Ajiri’s actions. In an effort to identify additional victims, the Arvada Police Department has released a list of aliases and accounts that Ajiri allegedly used during his interactions. Authorities encourage anyone who suspects they may have been a victim of this sextortion case to reach out to the Arvada Police Department at 720-898-7171 and reference Case #AR25004692.
As investigations continue, law enforcement seeks to educate the public on the risks associated with sharing personal information online and to provide resources for those who may find themselves in similar dangerous situations. The growing prevalence of online sextortion highlights the urgent need for increased awareness and protective measures in the digital age. Media News Source.
