Cardiology Consultants of Philadelphia partners with Cardiovascular Logistics, a national practice, to enhance cardiovascular care.
Cardiology Consultants of Philadelphia (CCP), recognized as the largest independent cardiology group within the Philadelphia area, has officially partnered with Cardiovascular Logistics (CVL), a national practice headquartered in Louisiana. This announcement was anticipated to be made public on Monday.
Founded earlier this year, Cardiovascular Logistics has seen rapid growth, with CCP becoming the fifth physician group to join its ranks. This strategic collaboration will incorporate 90 cardiologists and 50 advanced practice clinicians from CCP, increasing CVL’s provider network to a total of 440 healthcare professionals serving the Southeastern Pennsylvania region.
Though the specific terms of the agreement were not disclosed, the partnership aims to enhance patient care while fostering innovation in cardiovascular medicine. Mark Victor, CCP’s chief executive and a practicing cardiologist, articulated the organization’s pride in aligning with CVL, emphasizing the focus on quality patient care. He noted that this partnership allows CCP to retain its independence while leveraging the necessary resources and infrastructure to expand further.
CCP has a storied history, starting with just four cardiologists in the 1990s. Over time, the group sought avenues for growth and explored partnerships with 11 potential cardiology practices before determining that Cardiovascular Logistics was the most aligned with its objectives. Following this merger, Victor will transition into the role of president of the Mid-Atlantic region within CVL, while maintaining the CCP name.
Cardiovascular Logistics was co-founded by Lee Equity Partners, a New York-based investment firm, and the Cardiovascular Institute of the South, located in Houma, Louisiana. Since its inception in February 2023, CVL has emphasized a physician-led ownership model, a commitment to which Victor attests.
Previously, CVL’s chief executive, David Konur, mentioned that the organization has thoroughly vetted numerous practices to find the right partners, asserting that CCP epitomizes the qualities CVL seeks. With its established reputation as a clinical and operational leader in the region, the partnership between CCP and CVL is poised to significantly impact how cardiovascular care is delivered across the United States, reflecting a mutual commitment to innovative healthcare solutions.
As cardiovascular care continues to evolve, collaborations like this underscore a broader trend in the medical industry toward integrated networks that aim to improve patient outcomes while preserving the independence of established practices.
