The initiative received backing from Resorts World, which reached out to Johnson to expand the program’s reach. Their goal was ambitious: to serve approximately 7,000 individuals in neighborhoods including Queens, Brooklyn, and Harlem, directly addressing an urgent community need. The chef emphasized the significant impact of SNAP cuts in his community, noting that nearly 8,000 local residents have lost their benefits.
