Chino Hills suspect in killing and kidnapping is set to face charges on Monday.

Charges are anticipated to be filed against an Irvine resident accused of involvement in the recent abduction and murder of Shukur Aikebaer, a 60-year-old man, who was tragically shot to death following a kidnapping from his home in Chino Hills. A press conference is scheduled for the morning of August 3 at the Chino Hills sheriff’s station, where San Bernardino County District Attorney Jason Anderson and Sheriff Shannon Dicus are set to provide further details about the case, including the potential motive behind this violent act.

The suspect, Jianquan Bo, 66, is currently in custody at the West Valley Detention Center in Rancho Cucamonga, facing charges of murder and kidnapping. He is being held without bail and is expected to appear in San Bernardino County Superior Court either in person or via video conference to enter a plea.

According to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, Bo, along with his brother Zhengfeng Bo, 67, arrived at Aikebaer’s residence around 10 p.m. on July 29. Upon discovering that the power had gone out, Aikebaer stepped outside to investigate the situation, only to be shot and subsequently placed in the trunk of a dark-colored sedan. Responding deputies, alerted by a 911 call, located and stopped the vehicle about one mile from the scene.

In a chaotic turn of events, the driver exited the vehicle, opened the trunk, and fired a shot before deputies fatally shot him in response. The day following the incident, investigators executed a search warrant at the Bo family home in Irvine.

Emerging reports indicate that the two men had previously engaged in a business relationship over a Pasadena apartment complex, which later soured, resulting in multiple lawsuits, including one filed just days before the incident.

Aikebaer is remembered by family and friends as a devoted and caring individual, serving as the sole financial provider for his family, which includes three young daughters and a wife. A fundraising initiative on GoFundMe aims to alleviate some of the financial burdens faced by the family during this challenging time, emphasizing Aikebaer’s selflessness and commitment to his loved ones.
