On Wednesday, the State of Connecticut formally dismissed criminal contempt charges against Michelle Troconis, who is already serving over 14 years in prison for her involvement in the murder plotting of Jennifer Farber Dulos, the estranged wife of her former boyfriend. Troconis was convicted in March 2024 for her part in conspiring to execute and subsequently conceal the murder of Dulos.
The contempt charges stemmed from an incident during her trial, where Troconis reportedly displayed a sealed custody report related to ongoing disputes between Jennifer Farber Dulos and her estranged husband, Fotis Dulos. The document, which was presented on her laptop in a notably large font, was accessible to Troconis’ legal team, the public, and via livestream, raising questions about how she had acquired the confidential report from 2019. Following a review of recorded footage from the trial, court officials charged Troconis with criminal contempt of court, a misdemeanor offense, coinciding with her conviction for conspiracy to commit murder.

Jennifer Farber Dulos disappeared on May 24, 2019, after dropping her children off at school in New Canaan, Connecticut. Her remains have never been recovered, although a probate judge declared her legally dead in 2023. Fotis Dulos, her estranged husband, was arrested in June 2019 alongside Troconis for evidence tampering and hindering prosecution. They were captured on surveillance video discarding items in trash bins shortly after her disappearance.
Investigators later recovered items believed to be linked to the case, including blood-stained clothing and other potential evidence. Fotis Dulos faced additional charges of kidnapping and murder in January 2020 but died by suicide shortly thereafter while out on bail, never having stood trial for the alleged crime.
