A disturbing case has emerged from Connecticut involving a middle school nurse and her husband, both of whom have been arrested amid allegations of child sexual assault. Holly Desimone, aged 52, and her husband, David Desimone, aged 56, were taken into custody following a comprehensive two-month investigation conducted by the Plainfield Police Department’s Special Investigations Unit.
David Desimone faces 13 charges related to sexual misconduct with a minor, including first-degree sexual assault and risk of injury to a child. The majority of the allegations against him occurred between 2013 and 2020, but one instance of alleged fourth-degree sexual assault reportedly took place less than a year ago. These serious charges detail a trajectory of abuse and exploitation impacting a vulnerable child.
Holly Desimone has also been charged, albeit on different grounds. Authorities allege that she was aware of her husband’s abusive behavior but failed to report it or take protective measures on behalf of the victim. She faces a charge of conspiracy to commit risk of injury to a child.
In a statement earlier this week, Paul Brenton, Superintendent of Plainfield Public Schools, acknowledged that the district was aware of the arrest involving one of its staff members. While he did not explicitly name Holly Desimone, he noted that an employee had been on leave since July 3. On the following day, Brenton confirmed that this staff member had resigned “in advance of a scheduled hearing related to her employment.”
Notably, the incidents in question did not take place on school grounds and have been described as unrelated to school activities. Holly Desimone served as a school nurse at Plainfield Central Middle School for the 2023-24 fiscal year, while David Desimone was employed as a custodian within the district.
Both individuals were released on bond subsequent to their arrest and appeared for arraignment in Danielson Superior Court.
