A 28-year-old man from Waltham Cross, England, has been charged in connection with a fatal automobile accident that occurred in Gloucester County, New Jersey, on Sunday evening. Steve Hall faces charges including second-degree death by automobile and two counts of fourth-degree assault by automobile, according to Gloucester County Prosecutor Andrew B. Johns.

Law enforcement officials shared that the events leading up to the collision began around 5:30 p.m. on Sunday when police in West Deptford Township responded to reports of two intoxicated individuals at a local gas station and convenience store situated on the 1100 block of Hessian Avenue.

Upon arriving at the scene, the officers identified a vehicle that matched the description of one associated with the intoxicated individuals. As the officers observed the vehicle leaving the gas station, one officer activated emergency lights and began to follow it. Witnesses later reported that the vehicle was traveling at a high rate of speed when it veered into the opposite lane and collided with another car.

Reports indicate that a passenger in the back seat of the struck vehicle suffered a leg fracture, characterizing the collision as a T-bone accident.
