Georgia death row inmate requests a large last meal before execution.

A Georgia death row inmate has formally requested a lavish last meal in advance of his scheduled execution on December 17, 2025. Stacey Humphreys, sentenced to death for heinous crimes committed in 2003, is set to die by lethal injection at the Georgia Diagnostic and Classification Prison. A recent ruling by a state judge rejected his appeal for a delay in his execution.

Humphreys’s request for his final meal features an array of indulgent comfort foods. In a press release from the Georgia Department of Corrections, it was revealed that the inmate has requested barbecue beef brisket, pork ribs, a bacon double cheeseburger, French fries, coleslaw, cornbread, buffalo chicken wings, a meat lover’s pan pizza, and vanilla ice cream. To accompany his feast, he has chosen two lemon-lime sodas, indicative of his preference for rich, hearty fare. Humphreys, who stands approximately 6 feet 3 inches tall and weighs 305 pounds, is opting for a meal that reflects both the abundant nature of his request and the intensity of the moment.

Humphreys has been on death row since his sentencing, which came after he was convicted of murdering two real estate agents, Cyndi Williams, aged 33, and Lori Brown, aged 21. Prosecutors revealed that Humphreys lured the victims to their workplace, where he forced them to disrobe and disclose their account PINs before fatally shooting them execution-style. His capture followed a dramatic high-speed chase in Wisconsin, during which he reportedly stated he could not remember the killings but fled the scene because he was aware of his guilt.

Humphreys’s attempts to halt his execution were based on a legal agreement established during the COVID-19 pandemic that purportedly protects inmates in specific circumstances. However, legal experts noted that this agreement only applies to inmates whose appeals were dismissed during the judicial emergency, a status that does not pertain to Humphreys.

This execution is notable as it marks the first of 2025 in Georgia, amid ongoing national discussions regarding capital punishment and its ethical implications. The case continues to draw attention not only for its brutal nature but also for the issues surrounding justice and the death penalty in America.
