Health inspectors shut down several Orange County restaurants between October 1 and 8 due to health violations.

In a recent report, the Orange County Health Care Agency unveiled a list of food vendors and restaurants ordered to cease operations due to health violations between October 1 and October 8. According to the agency, these closures were primarily due to infestations of rodents and cockroaches, which raised public health concerns.

One notable establishment, ABC Liquor located at 8121 Bolsa Avenue, Midway City, was ordered to shut down on October 7 after inspectors discovered a rodent infestation. The outlet successfully resolved the issue and resumed food sales on October 9. Similarly, Kenny’s Liquor Market at 3070 W. Lincoln Avenue in Anaheim faced identical challenges, leading to its closure on October 7, only to reopen the following day after addressing the health concerns.

In Laguna Beach, Cozy 1 Cafe, located at 640 S. Coast Highway, was closed on October 7. The specific reason for this closure has not been disclosed. The Westminster establishment, Mai Phat Mi Gia, situated at 9191 Bolsa Avenue, Suite 111, was also shut down on October 7 for undisclosed reasons.

In a different instance, Harbor Pizza & More in Garden Grove was closed on October 7 due to a cockroach infestation but was able to reopen just a day later. Similarly, Tacos El Patron at 516 N. State College Blvd. in Anaheim and Firefly Burger at 11001 Chapman Avenue, Suite D, Garden Grove, also faced closures on October 6 for cockroach infestations, with both establishments reopening shortly thereafter.

The Irvine restaurant, Thai & Chinese Express, was closed on October 6 due to a cockroach infestation, though no reopening date was provided. Trung Nguyen Legend, located at 9039 Bolsa Avenue, Suite 101 in Westminster, was ordered to close for a cockroach infestation on the same day but managed to resolve the issues that led to the closure and reopened immediately.

Additionally, Off The Boat Fish Grill in Placentia and Bambu in Garden Grove were both closed due to cockroach infestations on October 5 and October 2, respectively, but quickly rectified the situation, enabling them to reopen shortly thereafter. Jim’s Super Char-Broiled Burgers in Anaheim, which was closed on October 2 for a similar reason, managed to reopen by October 5 after addressing the health concerns.

The Orange County Health Care Agency continues to issue weekly updates on restaurant closures, which serve to inform the public about the current status of local food vendors and ensure community health and safety. For continued updates and further information, the agency encourages checking their official inspection database.
