House Democrats allege cover-up of Trump-Epstein connections and are calling for the appointment of a special counsel.

Democratic members of the House Judiciary Committee have released a comprehensive 53-page report alleging that President Donald Trump has been accused of sexual assault or rape by five women, incidents purportedly occurring in the presence of convicted sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein, or shortly after the two men were together. This report comes at a significant time, just nine days before the midterm elections, prompting attention from both political allies and opponents.

Among the new allegations detailed is a disturbing account from a former Miss Switzerland, who claims she was raped by Trump at the Plaza Hotel in New York City during a beauty pageant in 1993. The report suggests that the incident left the victim bloodied and bruised.

The Judiciary Committee’s report highlights discrepancies in Trump’s public statements concerning his relationship with Epstein. For instance, Trump has previously stated that he never traveled on Epstein’s private jet, yet flight logs contradict this claim, indicating that the two were friends from the late 1980s until the early 2000s.

In light of these revelations, the Committee has called for a criminal investigation into the President. Attempts to reach the White House for comment yielded no response. Epstein, who died in jail in August 2019 while awaiting trial on sex trafficking charges, has become an emblematic figure in discussions about abuse and accountability.

Following Epstein’s death, there has been a notable mobilization among his victims and advocates demanding a deeper investigation into the individuals involved in his trafficking network. During the current election cycle, supporters of Trump and conservative media personalities have called for transparency and access to Department of Justice files related to Epstein.

Despite initial resistance, legislation known as the Epstein Files Transparency Act was passed in 2025, leading to the release of millions of pages of FBI and Department of Justice documents. These documents provided crucial information that underpins much of the Judiciary Committee’s report.

The Committee’s investigation revealed consistent patterns in accusations against Trump and others within Epstein’s sphere, with many women providing corroborative details about their experiences. Significant among the findings are allegations detailing incidents from the 1980s and 1990s involving young women introduced to Trump by Epstein, raising serious questions about the nature of Trump’s involvement during that period.

The report identifies a troubling trend, with mentions of at least 11 women connected to the allegations, five of whom have gone on record stating that they were assaulted or raped by Trump. Two women allege they were minors at the time of their assaults. The report highlights the need for accountability and has invoked calls for an independent special counsel to investigate these claims and alleged cover-ups further.
