Sources from the Iraqi capital of Baghdad identified one of the prisoners released by Israel as Imad Amhaz, a naval officer allegedly captured by Israeli forces in November 2024 from Batroun, a town noted for its rich Christian heritage located along the Lebanese coast. While Israel characterized Amhaz as a senior operative for Hezbollah, officials from Lebanon stated that he was merely a civilian trained in maritime affairs.
