Following the shooting, emergency medical personnel transported the suspect to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead shortly thereafter. Fortunately, no officers sustained injuries during the exchange of gunfire. The firearm used by the suspect was recovered at the scene.

Additionally, another recent incident in Trenton on October 4 saw a police officer shot in the leg while passing near the police headquarters. No suspects have been identified in that case, but the officer is anticipated to make a complete recovery.
