Kamala Harris to launch new book tour at The Met Philadelphia in September.

Former Vice President Kamala Harris is scheduled to visit Philadelphia this fall to promote her new book, “107 Days.” This event will take place on September 25 at The Met Philadelphia in partnership with Uncle Bobbie’s Coffee & Books, an independent Black-owned bookstore located in Germantown. The release of Harris’s book is set for September 23, and it chronicles her brief but intense 2024 presidential campaign against former President Donald Trump.

According to Live Nation, the Philadelphia engagement is part of Harris’s broader 15-stop book tour, which includes additional venues in cities across the United States, as well as international stops in London and Toronto. The tour seeks collaboration with other Black-owned bookstores, emphasizing support for local businesses and communities.

Tickets for the event will become available for purchase at 10 a.m. on Friday via the Ticketmaster website. Attendees will have the option to acquire VIP Meet & Greet tickets that include a signed copy of “107 Days” and a photo opportunity with Harris.

The title of Harris’s forthcoming book references the duration of her presidential campaign, which is recorded as the shortest general election campaign in modern history. Harris entered the race as the Democratic nominee after Joe Biden’s unexpected withdrawal in July 2024. The campaign heavily focused on Pennsylvania, a pivotal battleground state, where both candidates made repeated visits and invested over 0 million in advertising aimed at appealing to voters.

Harris’s campaign was described as highly intense and personal, an experience she shared in an announcement video. In her remarks, she highlighted the stakes involved and the emotional investment felt by both herself and many supporters.

Despite her notable candidacy, Harris lost the presidential election to Trump in November 2024, concluding her term as Vice President in January. Following this defeat, her political future remains uncertain. Notably, her book announcement came shortly after she declared her decision not to pursue the governorship of California, while leaving open the possibility for a presidential bid in 2028.

Founded in 2017 by notable author and activist Marc Lamont Hill, Uncle Bobbie’s Coffee & Books serves as more than just a retail outlet; it is a community hub dedicated to promoting literature, conversation, and empowerment within the Philadelphia area. Harris’s partnership with the bookstore underscores her commitment to supporting independent businesses and engaging directly with diverse communities throughout her book tour.
