La Habra Corn Festival Offers Community Fun and Entertainment
The annual La Habra Corn Festival parade commenced with vibrant displays of community spirit on Saturday morning, August 22, 2026, as families, local officials, and community members gathered to celebrate this cherished event. The parade, which marked the festival’s 77th anniversary, was organized by the La Habra Host Lions and signaled the beginning of a three-day celebration featuring carnival rides, games, shopping, and a variety of entertainment options at El Centro-Lions Park.
This year’s festival showcased a commitment to revitalizing interest among local residents, as organizers introduced several noteworthy changes. Among the new features were the inclusion of multiple grand marshals for the parade and the introduction of a drumline competition that followed the event. The aim of these modifications was to attract larger crowds and enhance the overall experience for attendees.
As the parade coursed down La Habra Boulevard, participants included families enjoying the festivities, local dignitaries, and various community organizations. Notably, La Habra City Councilmember Del Lampkin participated with his family, and the La Habra High School Highlander Band provided musical accompaniment, enhancing the jubilant atmosphere.
Additionally, attendees were treated to performances by local dance groups, such as Ballet Folklorico dancers from the Corona Dance Studio and members of the Oaxacan community. These culturally rich displays underscored the festival’s deep-rooted connections to its community.
Food, a central theme of the festival, was prominently featured, with countless ears of corn prepared and served throughout the weekend. Various community groups also participated by offering a diverse range of culinary delights, ensuring that the gastronomical tradition of the Corn Festival continued to thrive.
In a bid to further engage participants, organizers introduced a weekend-long raffle boasting enticing prizes, including a three-day cruise to Ensenada and a cash prize of ,000.
The festival continues on Sunday, August 23, with entertainment opportunities running from noon to 8 p.m. at El Centro-Lions Park, located at 320 E. Erna Ave., La Habra. Admission to the event remains free, providing an accessible occasion for community members and visitors alike to join in the celebration.
