LAPD Acquires Surveillance Videos from D4vd’s Rental Property

The Los Angeles Police Department is currently investigating a complex case involving the tragic death of 15-year-old Celeste Rivas, whose remains were discovered on September 8, after she had been reported missing from her family home in Lake Elsinore, California. Rivas’ body was found in the trunk of a Tesla vehicle registered to the up-and-coming singer known as D4vd, whose real name is David Burke. The discovery occurred just days after the car had been towed from a location close to the rental property where D4vd resides in Hollywood Hills.

In an effort to gather more information regarding Rivas’ presence at the property, the LAPD has obtained surveillance footage from multiple cameras located at the home of Malden Trifunovic, the owner of the rental house. Trifunovic, who clarified that he could not access the footage due to tenant privacy agreements, expressed uncertainty over whether Rivas was ever at the location. He has since hired a private investigator to look into the circumstances surrounding her death, citing frustrations over the LAPD’s progress in the case.

Rivas disappeared in early 2024, at just 13 years of age, and her remains were located approximately 75 miles from where she was last seen. The investigation into her death is ongoing, with the LAPD treating the case as a homicide, though details surrounding the cause of death or potential suspects remain unclear. To date, no individual has been named as a suspect or person of interest in the investigation.

D4vd is reportedly cooperating with law enforcement regarding the investigation. Although the LAPD has remained tight-lipped about any connections between the singer and Rivas, public speculation has arisen based on various factors. Rivas’ mother mentioned that her daughter had a boyfriend named David, and both Rivas and D4vd were reported to have matching tattoos that read “Shhh…” on their right index fingers. In addition, a song released by D4vd in 2023 titled “Celeste” has sparked further curiosity among followers of the case.

Sources close to the situation have indicated that acquaintances of both Rivas and D4vd believed they were involved in a romantic relationship, albeit under the impression that Rivas was older than her actual age, often thought to be approximately 19 years old. The investigation remains underway as authorities continue to uncover the details surrounding this deeply disturbing case.
