She was subsequently transferred to a pediatric acute care facility, where she underwent emergency surgery to repair a life-threatening injury to her small intestine, an injury attributed to severe blunt force trauma.

On February 28, 2025, a jury found the defendant guilty of first-degree assault and related charges, leading to his sentencing. Following the verdict, District Attorney Raymond A.
