Man Arrested for Assaulting Two Teenage Girls in Brooklyn Buildings
Authorities in Brooklyn have apprehended a 22-year-old man in connection with a series of assaults on two teenage girls that occurred within a six-hour timeframe. The suspect, identified as Justin Lee, was taken into custody in proximity to the crime scene around 2 a.m. Saturday morning and is currently facing charges that include harassment and endangering the welfare of a child.
The initial incident unfolded at approximately 1 p.m. on Friday in Kensington, coinciding with the victim’s attempt to enter her building at the intersection of Ocean Parkway and Ditmas Avenue. Reports indicate that Lee, clad in a distinctive “Mario Kart” T-shirt, allegedly seized a 13-year-old girl by the neck and pushed her forward before fleeing the scene. Fortunately, the young victim emerged from the incident without serious injuries.
The situation escalated later that same day, just before 7 p.m., when Lee allegedly targeted a 16-year-old girl in a building located on Ocean Parkway, not far from the site of the earlier attack. Surveillance footage released by authorities shows that he followed the teen inside the building, where he reportedly restrained her by wrapping his arms around her. During the struggle, both individuals fell to the floor, but Lee ultimately fled the scene as the girl continued to fight back. Although emergency services were summoned to treat the victim, she declined medical assistance.
Following the second incident, law enforcement quickly determined that it had occurred in a building adjacent to where the first attack took place. The police released the surveillance footage in the hopes of identifying Lee, leading to his subsequent arrest. It has been reported that he resides on the same block where both incidents occurred.
Details surrounding the circumstances of his arrest remain limited. As of Saturday afternoon, Lee’s arraignment in Brooklyn Criminal Court was anticipated but had not yet occurred, leaving the legal proceedings to unfold in the coming days.
