Emergency responders were alerted to a “person down” incident at approximately 7:32 a.m. An account named Walt Disney World: Active Calls, dedicated to providing real-time updates on emergency situations at the park, had reported that the situation had escalated to a “dead person” status. This account operates independently of The Walt Disney Company, aiming to inform the public about ongoing law enforcement activities at the resort.
The incident occurred at the Cottontail Curl loop in the Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground, a location associated with outdoor camping experiences, including tent and RV accommodations. Just days prior to this incident, the resort was in the news following the death of 31-year-old Summer Equitz, who reportedly died by apparent suicide at Disney’s Contemporary Resort hotel.
