Michigan Walmart attacker faces terrorism charges for stabbing spree.
A stabbing incident at a Walmart in Traverse City, Michigan, has left eleven individuals injured and has led to the arrest of a 42-year-old man, Bradford James Gille, who now faces multiple charges, including assault and terrorism. Authorities reported that Gille went on a violent rampage inside the store on Saturday afternoon, wielding a three-inch folding knife and attacking shoppers and employees near the checkout area.
According to the Grand Traverse Sheriff’s Office, bystanders, including two U.S. Marines, quickly intervened and subdued Gille within approximately one minute of the first reports of the chaos. Authorities are expected to file charges against Gille that include eleven counts of assault with intent to commit murder, alongside a terrorism charge. Initial reports indicated that six of the victims were in critical condition, but by Sunday afternoon, their status improved. As per hospital updates, two individuals remained in serious condition, while eight others were reported to be in fair condition, and one person had already been treated and released.
During a news conference, Sheriff Michael D. Shea praised the swift response of both citizens and law enforcement. Citizens attending the scene helped to assist the injured and contributed to Gille’s capture. Eyewitness accounts described a scene of panic and distress, with one shopper recalling the horror of seeing a man stabbed in the eye and another witnessing a severe attack on a woman.
