Montgomery County man charged with soliciting sex from 15-year-old girl after paying for pictures of her feet.
A 76-year-old man from Hatboro, Pennsylvania, has been charged with soliciting sexual acts from a 15-year-old girl, an allegation stemming from incidents involving the payment for photographs of the girl and her younger sister’s feet. The Montgomery County District Attorney, Kevin R. Steele, confirmed the charges during a press briefing held on Monday.
The accused, identified as Dennis Reilly, was arrested on Friday and faces multiple counts related to sexual offenses. He is currently being detained at the Montgomery County Correctional Facility under a cash bail amounting to ,000.
The case began to unfold on Thursday when two adults approached the Hatboro police to report concerning interactions between Reilly and the teenage girl. One of these adults, who is the father of the girl’s boyfriend, became aware of the situation after discovering that the girl and her sister had been approached by Reilly while they were outside walking their dog. According to the probable cause affidavit, during this initial encounter, Reilly inquired about the socks the girls were wearing, which led to him allegedly offering to pay them “around 0” for foot photographs.
Following this, the father learned that the girl was allegedly receiving repeated texts from Reilly asking for additional foot images. Concerned for the safety of the teen, he decided to text Reilly while impersonating her, claiming that she had a new phone to deter further communication through the old number.
The interactions escalated when Reilly allegedly expressed a desire to meet the girl again, specifically requesting she wear the shoes she had used for school. Subsequently, the father contacted law enforcement, and a Hatboro detective took over the conversation, posing as the girl. During this exchange, Reilly indicated his interest in providing more explicit content in exchange for further payments, arranging a meeting at a local Wawa convenience store.
Upon confronting Reilly at the Wawa, the detective revealed the nature of the interaction, leading to Reilly’s admission of having a “foot fetish.” However, he claimed he did not intend to engage in any sexual contact with the girl. The detective also discovered that Reilly possessed a considerable number of images of feet on his phone, including those of the 15-year-old, which has since been seized as part of the evidence collection process.
In a renewed appeal for information, Hatboro Police Chief Mark Ruegg urged anyone who might have had a similar encounter with Reilly to come forward and contact the police at 215-675-2832. This incident underscores ongoing concerns regarding the safety and protection of minors in the community.
This case continues to develop, and it emphasizes the importance of vigilance and appropriate legal action in response to allegations of inappropriate behavior involving minors.
