New Jeffrey Epstein files reveal connections to Donald Trump.
Donald Trump’s relationship with the late Jeffrey Epstein has once again come under scrutiny, following recent disclosures from the Justice Department. This latest document release includes numerous references to Trump and details about his travels on Epstein’s private aircraft, suggesting he may have flown with the convicted sex offender more frequently than previously reported.
The revelations stem from an email sent by a prosecutor in the Southern District of New York in January 2020, which surfaced in the latest batch of records. This communication was sent approximately five months after Epstein’s death while in custody, where he was awaiting trial on multiple charges of sex trafficking. The prosecutor indicated that newly received flight records indicated Trump had traveled on Epstein’s jet many more times than the authorities had previously acknowledged, including during a time when charges against Ghislaine Maxwell, Epstein’s prominent associate, were anticipated.
The prosecutor’s correspondence disclosed specific instances involving Trump flying with various family members, including his ex-wife, Marla Maples, their daughter Tiffany, as well as his son Eric Trump. Notably, there was an instance in 1993 where Trump was reported to have flown alone on Epstein’s plane with a then-20-year-old woman.
Furthermore, the investigative files also include a subpoena issued to Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate in October 2021, in connection with the ongoing investigation into Maxwell’s alleged activities. Details regarding the compliance with this subpoena have not been made public.
Complicating matters is the inclusion of Virginia Giuffre in the narrative. Giuffre, a well-known accuser of Epstein, had previously claimed that she was groomed by Maxwell, a claim that implicates alleged abuses by other influential figures. However, she did not accuse Trump of any wrongdoing.
Significantly, Trump has not been charged with any crimes related to Epstein or his network of abuse. The email exchanges between federal investigators do not suggest any illegal activity on Trump’s part. The attorney for the former president has dismissed many assertions made in these recent disclosures as inaccuracies and sensationalism, especially those made during the electoral context of 2020.
The Justice Department has recently released tens of thousands of documents as part of the Epstein Files Transparency Act, which has drawn criticism for its handling of sensitive information. Lawmakers and Epstein’s victims have questioned both the thoroughness of the release and the manner in which certain records were redacted.
Epstein’s demise at the age of 66, ruled a suicide in 2019, has led to significant outrage and frustration among those who accused him, as many feel their pursuit of justice remains unfulfilled. Ghislaine Maxwell, convicted in December 2021 for her role in facilitating Epstein’s abuse, is currently serving a 20-year sentence and is appealing her conviction.
The extensive flight records and communications surrounding Trump serve as reminders of the ongoing complexities linked to Epstein’s extensive network. As the investigation progresses, the implications of these connections continue to evoke public and legal interest.
